Muscles bunch and release and the strain of trying to pull a heavy cart shows on this middle aged man's face.

This is the life of a "Van Puller", who transports heavy loads on a Pushcart or a tricycle cart. Asher's father is a van puller and his mother, a daily wage laborer. Nine year old Asher has grown up watching his parents struggle to provide for him and his siblings.

Insufficient food, inadequate nutrition and shabby, hand-me-down clothes are situations that Asher and his family live with.

This severe lack of food resulted in their education and concentration being affected. Looking more haggard each passing day, Asher's parents were hoping desperately for a miracle.

The Hand of Hope feeding center stepped in to provide Asher nourishing and appetizing meals and educational assistance. Today Asher is a bright, healthy child who enjoys playing football or cricket with his friends. He and his parents are grateful for the chance he now has to stride forward into a bright future.
