Mae knows the ways of a farmer. After school, she accompanies her parents to the rice fields to help them work.
Eight-year-old Mae was malnourished and underweight without regular meals to eat at home. But when she joined the Hand of Hope feeding program, it was a source of support to her nine-member family.
Wearing her old flip flops, Mae walks to the feeding program and sits down to a bowl of nutritious food. The Hand of Hope staff also teaches Mae and the other children important lessons which help her in school.
Mae still asks her parents if they need help in the rice fields, but they happily decline her offer, knowing that at the Hand of Hope feeding program, she is working toward a much better future.
